Where do the prayer times come from?من أين تأتي مواقيت الصلاة؟
From the sun's position for your place and date, using adhan-js. Each method sets the sun angles for Fajr and Isha. Saudi Arabia uses Umm al-Qura: Fajr at 18.5° below the horizon, and Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib (120 in Ramadan). Like the official Umm al-Qura tables, prayer times round up to the minute and sunrise rounds down. Checked against those tables, Miqat is within a minute; a local mosque can still differ by a minute or two.من موقع الشمس لمكانك وتاريخك، باستخدام adhan-js. كل طريقة تحدّد زاويتي الشمس للفجر والعشاء. تعتمد السعودية تقويم أم القرى: الفجر عند 18.5° تحت الأفق، والعشاء بعد المغرب بـ 90 دقيقة (و120 في رمضان). وكجداول أم القرى الرسمية، تُقرَّب أوقات الصلاة إلى الدقيقة التالية ويُقرَّب الشروق إلى السابقة. وبالمقارنة مع تلك الجداول، يختلف ميقات بدقيقة على الأكثر، وقد يختلف مسجدك المحلي بدقيقة أو دقيقتين.

Why does solar noon move?لماذا يتغيّر وقت الزوال؟
A whole country often shares one clock, but the sun crosses each city at a different moment: 4 minutes later for every degree you go west. The Earth's tilted, oval orbit adds up to about 16 minutes either way through the year.كثيرًا ما تشترك دولة كاملة في توقيت واحد، لكن الشمس تعبر كل مدينة في لحظة مختلفة: 4 دقائق لاحقًا عن كل درجة غربًا. ويضيف ميل الأرض ومدارها البيضاوي ما يصل إلى 16 دقيقة تقديمًا أو تأخيرًا على مدار السنة.
Why a cat?لماذا قطة؟
ميقات means an appointed time. Written in English, Miqat reads like “Me-cat”.ميقات تعني الوقت المحدد. وحين تُكتب بالإنجليزية Miqat تُقرأ كأنها Me-cat، أي «أنا قطة».
